Galop opens
In June 1982 Galop was launched.
Based in offices at Mount Pleasant, Galop (initially a grouping of interested parties and lawyers) was funded by the GLC to offer services to gay men who experienced discriminatory policing.
Galop was funded following a consultation undertaken by CHE (Campaign for Homosexual Equality) with other police monitoring groups through the ‘London Association of Police Monitoring Groups’ which met regularly.
